William Chang

William Chang has been a flash fiction fan ever since he read the 6-word story that has been attributed to Ernest Hemingway (worth a google).

A final year student at PolyU, he plans to pursue another degree and write a lot more micro-stories to entertain his readers (mostly his loved ones) and himself. He is currently reading a number of books but has the attention span of an eight-year-old who won’t finish them.

Author’s Introduction

If you haven’t read my work, please do (at least skim it!) before indulging in the following. I had a great time writing this story as a fictional memoir. By definition, a memoir is a historical account, whereas fiction describes imaginary events. Put them together and they don’t make any more sense than a pancake with cheese. Thus, I have written the story in such a way that the readers can interpret it on their own. Hint: only meaty fingers type.

Publishing with Inscribe has been a humbling experience and encourages me to keep writing. The fictional memoir served as a submission to a Read@PolyU competition with the slogan ‘Readers also Write’. I believe the reverse is unfortunately more accurate, which could be a dealbreaker for some aspiring writers and a motto for others. I am currently hovering between the two.

Going back to the keyboard. Don’t dwell on my story – there are lots of way better ones out there.
