How Do I Use This Site?

There are 4 ways to use this site:

  1. as a place with English language learning materials
  2. as a place with information about how to learn English independently on the Internet.
  3. as a place to find links to English language learning materials on the Internet

1. As a place with English language learning materials.

The CILL site includes a number of of English language learning materials. In future we will develop more. However, because this takes a long time, we have provided links to other sites with English language learning materials for you. The Internet is often busy, so please be patient when accessing these sites. We try to give you choices of different sites for a topic, so if one site is too slow or doesn't work, try another.

2. As a place with information about how to learn English independently on the Internet.

The CILL site provides information on how to learn English independently on the Internet. You can find this information on or from the 'Frequently-asked Questions' page and the 'What is Independent Learning?' page. You can also find information on this Internet site about how to study in CILL; eg. how to study Presentations.

3. As a place to find links to English language learning materials on the Internet.

It would take too long for the CILL tutors to write a lot of English language courses on the Internet, so we have provided links to useful Internet sites written by other teachers for you. If you have any comments about these sites you can e-mail us. You can also e-mail the sites' authors (often called a 'webmaster') with comments and suggestions. Authors are usually happy to receive constructive suggestions. However, please do not complain if the site is too slow, as this is usually beyond the control of the author.
