Due to technical malfunction because of super typhoon (Category 4 hurricane equivalent), the deadline for abstract submission is postponed until this coming Wednesday 19 September 2018, 12.00 midnight Hong Kong time.

We are now inviting proposals on topics that relate to English Across the Curriculum and the following themes:

a. Content and Language Integrated Learning

b. Literacy in the discipline

c. Writing and/or Speaking Across the Curriculum

d. Engaging staff and students in improving language/literacy skills in the discipline

e. Evaluating the impact of any of the above

- Paper Presentation (20 minutes + 10 minutes Q&A)

- Colloquium (45 minutes + 15 minutes Q&A)

Submitting Abstracts

Proposals must include the following:

a.       15-word (max) title

b.       50-word (max) summary

c.       200-word (max) abstract

d.       50-word (max) bio for each presenter

Each person can appear on a maximum of two abstracts (whether paper presentation or colloquium) and only once as the first author (whether paper presentation or colloquium).

Selection Process

All submissions will undergo a double blind review and the first author of accepted submissions will be informed by 15 August 2018 30 September.

Equipment

Computers with internet connection for projecting materials, e.g. PowerPoint, audio and/or video, will be available in each conference room. Audio and video files should be in mp3 and mp4 formats respectively. Please upload your presentation files onto your cloud drive or store in a thumb drive before delivering your presentation. Wi-Fi through eduroam is available in most areas on campus. (Presenters' deadline for registration: 16 October 2018).

Key Dates

Abstracts submitted by participants who have not registered by 16 October 2018 will be removed from the programme.
