Things that will Reduce your Grade in Presentations
Here are some common mistakes students make in
presentations:
don't read your presentation from a piece of paper - use note cards
don't spend all your presentation telling your audience things they already know - teach them something new and useful
don't have the Overhead Projector turned on all the time
don't have Overhead Transparencies (OHTs) as your only visual aid
don't have paragraphs on your OHTs - point form only
don't forget to check the pronunciation of words that you are not sure
about, especially if they are important words in your presentation. CILL has a CD-ROM
dictionary that you can listen to for pronunciation.
Check your presentation plan for these problems, and get rid of them!
