Beyond the ELC
Practical English for the Elderly

As well as supporting students at PolyU, the English Language Centre (ELC) undertakes outreach into the wider community. The “Practical English for the Elderly” programme, coordinated by Ms Vivian Li, was launched in June 2015 at the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Community Services Division.
The aims of the programme were to enrich English vocabulary and conversation skills, to enrich social life after retirement and to improve communication skills with a range of people.
The students, with an age range of 60 to 84, all received a certificate from the ELC.
The course was such a success it will be repeated in June 2016.
Well done to Vivian for all her hard work and well done to the helpers who also contributed to the success of this worthwhile and stimulating programme.
