Reading Group Experience

Books can never fail to fascinate human beings. Do you find it difficult to settle down to read an original classical book due to your busy schedule in the university? Now, please relax.

Reading group provides a precious experience for me – reading in a busy university life. Under the direction of the facilitators, I have finished several classic books with my schoolmates whom I had never met before. Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations” provided me with a vivid picture of his sympathy to lower level people in the society. “Five people you meet in Heaven” taught me valuable lessons, like treasure what we have in life. The book “Bridget Jones's Diary” made me laugh but also understand more about modern society’s view towards marriage.

During the reading meetings, we became friends with one another. We read, shared and discussed the book and life. I have extended my vocabulary, improved my reading skills and practiced my spoken English in the reading session. We also made friends with the facilitators and keep contact with them. They help us to read books, to understand western culture, and to reflect on our lives. Reading group is the chance: if you have a thirst for a colorful university life, grasp it.
