Mini-Research Question 10:
If I can say
"generally speaking" before I give my opinion, can I use any other
adverb with ‘speaking’?
First go to http://vlc.polyu.edu.hk/ and find the
"Web Concordancer" in the middle of the page.
To search this we can put in
a part of a word. As many adverbs end in "–lly", we can get the
Concordancer to search that.
Type in the
words "lly speaking" in the "Keyword" box. Please note in the first box change it
from "equal to" to "contains". After you’ve typed in "lly
speaking" hit the "Go" icon.
Remember to look out for
the answers which will be given with the next question next week!
