Hi, I'm Andy and I'm an English teacher in Hong Kong. I work in the English Language Centre of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

This page is for my students to know more about me, and for academics who want some background information about me if they meet me at conferences or read my papers and dissertations.

I went to Aberdeen University where I gained an M.A. (Hons) degree in Political Studies in the Department of Political Studies and International Relations.

I also studied a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies at Robert Gordon's Institute of Technology, which is now called Robert Gordon's University.

I also have a Master of Arts Degree in English Language Teaching from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

I came to Hong Kong to work for the Hong Kong English Club, a conversation club in Kowloon. In 1990 I joined The British Council, HK , where I stayed until 1995.

I have also worked at Hong Kong University's School of Professional and Continuing Education.

In 1995 I came to work in the English Department of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. At first I taught academic English to undergraduates, and in December I moved to the Centre for Independent Language Learning (CILL). CILL is now part of the English Language Centre (ELC). I am now a Lecturer in the ELC.
