How this module can help you

This module will help you to appreciate English literature.You will read poems, short stories, extracts from novels and dramas and discuss their meaning and interest.

Objectives

This module aims to introduce you to a range of literary genres in English and consider their differences. You will learn terminology for examining literary texts and use it in discussing and evaluating a variety of texts. You will be given the opportunity to read aloud and to participate in dramatic appreciation and performance.

Out of class work

You will be expected to read some texts out of class in order to prepare for upcoming sessions.

Classroom instruction

In the classroom component of this module you are expected to complete 7 units of work on various aspects of English literature.
